Release Form

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) provides students and parents with certain rights regarding their data. You can see the full York University FERPA policy in the Student Handbook. 

In many cases, York University will not be able to discuss your student with you without a FERPA release, even if the student is a dependent. The release form can only be completed by the student. Federal Law prohibits you from completing this form on behalf of your student.

Access Code

In order to ensure compliance with FERPA rules, York University does not provide you directly with the access code for your student. Codes are provided to the student, and the student can choose to communicate the code with you.

Click the Report Card link below when a student has given you their code.

 

Billing Access

Nelnet LogoYork University accepts online payments and provides for confidential and FERPA-safe third party access to your student's balance through Nelnet services.

In order for a parent or other person to see the balance or make a payment, the student must first set up access for that person in the Nelnet system.
